Earlier this summer I reported that NYS was planning to repave Hillside Ave in August. Today is September 1 and the road has not been repaved. Some residents have asked what's happening. Hillside is a major road -from Route 119, past the Bailey School and Town Hall -continuing to the Mount Pleasant line.
I reached out to the NYS DOT and received the following info. NYS will repave Hillside Ave later this month. The state awarded a bid to Intercounty Paving Assoc. LLC. We anticipate an award later this September with construction beginning soon thereafter. To alleviate congestion issues, this work is scheduled to be done at night. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2018.
This is the first NYS road that is being repaved in Greenburgh in over three years! We're working with NYS officials. They are trying to identify funding sources to address the other roads that they own that are in need of repaving.
