TIME MAGAZINE NAMES TARRYTOWN/GREENBURGH BIO TECH CORRIDOR AS 40TH MOST GENIUS PLACE IN AMERICA
In 1994 former Governor Mario Cuomo attended a press conference at Greenburgh Town Hall -- proud that CIBA had decided to stay here. ( http://www.nytimes.com/1994/06/16/nyregion/ciba-corp-decides-to-keep-its-us-headquarters-in-the-county.html ) . Since that time we have tried hard to attract many additional bio tech companies to Greenburgh. And, we’ve been successful – creating two major bio tech corridors in the unincorporated section of Greenburgh: Tarrytown and south of downtown Ardsley. Greenburgh has become the bio tech capital of our region and we’re proud of that distinction!
Regeneron is one of the major bio tech companies located in the unincorporated Greenburgh section of Tarrytown and has become one of the leading bio tech companies in the world (they have been honored internationally as the best bio tech company in the world to work at). They keep expanding and plan a very significant expansion in Greenburgh this coming year. Thanks to their efforts and the efforts of other bio tech companies in the Tarrytown section of Greenburgh - our area has been named by TIME Magazine as #40 in the TIME MAGAZINE 100 MOST GENIUS PLACES IN AMERICA. The Tarrytown/Greenburgh bio tech corridor is one of two bio tech centers - the other is located south of Ardsley on Saw Mill River Road (Acorda headquarters).
