Supervisors Report - 9/6

9/6  A briefing for members of the Town Hall/library committee will be held on on Thursday, September l2th at 4:30 PM to discuss a property/building that the town has identified that is up for sale that could be acquired as either the Town Hall/Library. This meeting will be open to the public. The meeting will be held at Town Hall and will last no longer than one hour.

9/6  UNIFICATION CHURCH PROPERTY UPDATE: Spoke to Kate Garrett, projects manager of the Trust for Public Land today. Was advised that the option to purchase the property as open space had expired in August and will be extended to mid December. The town will continue to wage an aggressive effort to acquire this property (Taxter Ridge) as open space


DEDICATION OF 9/11 MEMORIAL GARDEN TO TAKE PLACE ON 9/11 at 8:45 AM at Veteran Town Park, multipurpose center. All invited to attend as we remember the victims of the World Trade Center tragedy.

TOWN TO SEEK COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK FUNDING FOR POLICE LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPLORER POST--The program will be a year round education program and involve youth in police operations. the program is designed to interest young people in law enforcement, foster interest in the profession as a possible career path and improve relations between the police and its younger constituents (l4-l6 years of age).
