Ardsley schools will lose $192,171.86 if the county acquires 450 Saw Mill River Road
Release Date: December 07, 2006

WestchesterCountyis considering purchasing the property located at 450 Saw Mill River Roadfor use by the CountyBoardof Elections. The property is located in the ArdsleySchool districtand the unincorporated Town of Greenburgh. The property currently generates $192,170.86 in taxes for the school district. The town/fire district/county gets $99,411.62 in taxes from the property.

The annual loss of over $192,000,000 in tax revenue to the Ardsley school district would result in a significant increase in  Ardsley school taxes. I am urging the CountyExecutive, Andrew Spano, to consider a pilot – paying the town/fire district/school district the amount we would receive in taxes if the property is purchased. CountyExecutiveSpano’s e mail is ceo@westchestergov.com.
