LEAF LAW HEARING TOMORROW--HEALTH CENTER WINS APPROVAL
Release Date: October 24, 2006

The Greenburgh Town Boardhas scheduled a public hearing for tomorrow at 7:15 PMat GreenburghTown Hallon a proposal to amend the town code prohibiting the piling of leaves on any public street, roadway, highway or sidewalk within the town.  The proposed law states that a leaf pile(s) located on any public street, roadway, highway or sidewalk shall create a rebuttable presumption that the landowner, management agent or occupant adjacent to the leaf pile threw, cast, lay, directed or permitted the leaves to be placed in this location.  Violation notices and summonses will be issued to those violating the law, if the legislation is approved.  The law is being proposed because we have received complaints  about safety hazards presented during the fall season by piles of leaves and other debris on public streets.

If you would like a copy of the proposed law please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. I will also be posting the law, in its entirety on the blog: www.pfeiner.blogspot.com. You can express your comments on this blog site if you like.

On another matter – the GreenburghNeighborhoodHealthCenterreceived final approvals to build their new HealthCenteron KnollwoodRoad. Approvals were granted by the Planning Board. The Zoning Board and Town Boardhad previously approved the application. Construction should begin soon. The HealthCenterprovides residents with outstanding health care. Senator Hillary Clinton recently visited the center and praised the center and their staff for their terrific work. The existing health center will eventually become a bank.
