I have received a number of calls/complaints from residents who have Cablevision. Cablevision is now requiring a $6 box in order to get a previously free TCM service. I asked Tim Lewis, our Town Attorney, whether the town has any control over these rates. Federal law preempts state and local governments from regulating rates for services above basic. Therefore, the town cannot regulate this rate in any manner.
