I recently started a new town blog site: www.pfeiner.blogspot.com. I’m amazed at the response we are getting to the new blog. Hundreds of people are visiting the blog every day –many people, representing differing viewpoints, are commenting on issues and questions that concern them. A suggestion was made that I think is great – let’s encourage students to participate in the blog by creating a student viewpoint blog report. The student report will be posted on our blog and will highlight local issues from the eyes of students. If you know aspiring student journalists who would like to participate in the student viewpoint blog report – please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. Or, call me at my office: 914-993-1540 or 914-478-1219. Student reporters for the blog will meet periodically to discuss the issues they want featured. In addition to the student viewpoint blog report – students are invited to participate in our new student cable TV news program. The show aired its first segment in the spring. Students are busy working on the next segment to air in November. Let me know the names of students who might be interested in participating in this initiative. People move to Greenburgh for their kids –for our schools, for our recreation programs. The student viewpoint blog will provide students with an opportunity to learn about government…to learn local issues and to report and comment on them.
