14 UNITS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING

On Friday, March 31, 2006, the Town, in cooperation with the Villageof Hastingsand the Countyof Westchester, completed the sale and conveyance of the property known as “422 Warburton Avenue, Hastingson the Hudson, NY” to the Hastings Affordable Housing development Fund (HDFC). The Town conveyed the property in exchange for $272,000 for the sole and exclusive purpose of erecting  fourteen (14) affordable housing units on the property. In addition, a restriction inserted in the deed conveying the property requires that preference in renting four (4) of the fourteen (14) units be given to economically eligible Town of Greenburghvolunteers, employees and/or residents before all others. The Town’s four units will be marketed to households having 80% or less of the WestchesterCountymedian income as established annually by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban development (HUD).
Special thanks to Ed Lieberman, Deputy Town Attorney, for his efforts last week in completing the sale. Members of the Town Board held a meeting on Friday afternoon to authorize the completion of the sale.
