Save money on prescription drugs
Release Date: March 01, 2006

The Attorney General, with the help of AARP volunteers, has created a web site that can save you money. More than 5.6 million New Yorkers and about 450,000 seniors lack coverage for prescription drugs and may have had to pay the full price for their medications out of their own pockets.  A new site: www.nyagrx.org allows you to search and compare the prices for 150 commonly prescribed drugs that state law requires pharmacies to disclose to you upon request. To find the prescription drug prices at surveyed pharmacies, you can search by city/county or by zipcode and distance. This information will show you the value of comparison shopping among pharmacies to get the best price for your prescription drugs. The site also offers cost savings tips and links to public and private programs that offer discounted or free medications.
