Release Date: February 06, 2006

Shell Oil will seek a zoning change and is proposing that they be allowed to build a hydrogen-fueling station and educational visitor’s center at 1000 Central Avein Greenburgh (near Ardsley Road).  This would enable GM to bring fuel cell powered cars to the area. The station will be the 3rd hydrogen fueling station in the nation – the others are located in Californiaand in DC.

Shell Oil has been meeting with Edgemont Community Council representatives, fire district officials and with the Edgemont school district and has shown officials the hydrogen cars that GM is in the process of building. Currently, these cars cost over a million dollars each.
