Governor calling in National Guard to help get power restored...out of area crews arriving to help..
Release Date: March 04, 2018

Some positive news. I had sent the Governor's office an e mail late this afternoon suggesting that they consider having the national guard assist in the restoration of Con Ed power outages. It's obvious that Con Ed did not have the resources they needed to quickly restore power to customers. The Governor's office promptly called me back and indicated to me that about an hour before I sent them the e mail the Governor did call in the National Guard to help Hudson Valley residents the electric power we all depend on.  I'm impressed with how committed the Governor's office is --trying to help our residents get power restored quickly.  They are really trying --and interacting with local officials throughout the state.

In addition--the Governor's office advised me that companies from Western New York and from other regions have started arriving in the area and will help Con Ed customers who are out of power get the power restored sooner rather than later.

More and more residents have been contacting me advising me that power has been restored. We now have just over 2,400 customers out of power --earlier today it was over 4,000.

If you are still out of power there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Don't get discouraged!
