Second half of school tax bill due on Wed, January 31...what's happening at Dalewood Shopping Center
Release Date: January 28, 2018

Thousands of Greenburgh taxpayers paid the 2nd half of the school tax in December so they would be able to receive the federal tax deduction. However, many did not pay this portion of the tax bill preferring to wait to pay till the end of January.  That's the reason for this friendly reminder....

The 2nd half of the 2017 school tax is due on January 31st.  Town Hall will remain open till 7 PM on Wednesday. You can also pay that portion of the tax by credit card or on line.  Click onto the following link for more info:

The town acts as a collection agent for all the school districts within the town. However- we have no control over the school budgets or tax rates that the school districts set. The school districts are governed by independent elected officials. And taxpayers vote to approve the school budgets each year. The town is required by law to send the school district a check for the amount every property owner owes - whether we receive the payments or not. This helps the schools because they are guaranteed a check whether taxpayers pay their bills or not.  If a taxpayer doesn't pay their school bills the town is able to place a lien on the property and we charge interest and penalties.
