ELECTION DAY IS---TOMORROW FOR COMMISSIONERS OF 3 PAID FIRE DISTRICTS PLEASE VOTE
Release Date: December 11, 2017

Greenburgh has three paid fire districts—Hartsdale, Fairview and Greenville. Each of the fire districts is independent of the town. The town does not approve the budget, pay salaries or make any policy decisions relating to the fire departments.  Fire Commissioners act as Legislators and are responsible for approving a budget.  The average resident who resides in a paid fire district pays approximately 13+% of their entire tax bill (town, county, school, fire districts) to the fire district. So – it is important for residents to participate in the election process.   Some residents of unincorporated Greenburgh are served by volunteer fire departments.

Election day for the Fire Commissioners is tomorrow, according to NYS law.
