WE ARE LOOKING FOR MEMBERS! The Greenburgh Town Board unanimously approved a resolution recently creating a Health Care Advisory Board. the Town Board believes that there is a need for a local community committee that could act as liaison to the Town Board to work on informative public events addressing healthcare issues and, more generally, facilitate good health and well-being among residents of the Town. The mission of the local advisory committee will be to promote healthcare advances among all age groups and to help residents stay keep abreast of recent studies and advances in healthcare which could aid in promoting good health among diversified groups. The local advisory committee will also conduct and recommend such educational programs as, in the judgment of the committee would increase good health and well-being of inhabitants of the community. The committee will also provide residents who have health related problems with the ability to discuss their problems with other neighbors who experienced similar health scares. The committee can provide those who face medical procedures with uplifting stories from neighbors who successfully had similar procedures and are doing fine. We will be working with an existing organization - the Transplant Support Organization which has been meeting at Greenburgh Town Hall monthly for two years. The TSO includes residents who have had heart, kidney, liver, lung and pancreas transplants. Their website is : http://www.transplantsupport.org/
