PLAYGROUND RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY WED (TOMORROW AT 10 AM)

Earlier this summer the Town Board appropriated $75,000 for the development of a new playground at the Lee Jackson School, using non taxpayer developer escrow funds.  The playground  has been installed and the ribbon cutting ceremony takes place Wednesday September 9th at 10 AM at the lee Jackson School. The playground will be open to residents of the town during non school hours and the school district has agreed to allow the town to use the school for our summer camp operations as long as the playground stands. A win win for all.  A perfect example of town/school partnering!

Greenburgh has excellent schools. That's why people move here. Over a year ago a prestigious group named Edgemont as the best school district in the United States! Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Hastings, Irvington, Tarrytown, Valhalla & Pocantico schools do some amazing things. Please share some positive things about the school district with me during the school year so I can help residents appreciate what's happening.

VETERANS APPRECIATION BARBEQUE TOMORROW-- SENIORS DON'T WORRY-- IT WILL BE HELD INDOORS (AIR CONDITIONING) AND OUTDOORS--YOUR CHOICE---AND WE HAVE CARTS THAT WILLTRANSPORT YOU TO THE SENIOR CENTER FROM PARKING LOT, IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY WALKING..

Tomorrow is our annual veterans appreciation barbeque. Will take place from 5 PM to 7:30 PM. We expect a hot day--town pool will be open from 3 to 6:30 PM. Many of our veterans are elderly- in their late 80s or 90s. Please be advised that the barbeque will provide veterans with a choice---indoor or outdoor eating.  And, we will have carts transporting seniors from the parking lot to the senior center if they have difficulty walking.
