I am pleased to report that the Greenburgh Town Board unanimously approved a resolution to accept a one million dollar donation offered by AvalonBay communities and Robert Martin Company to be used solely for the purpose of funding the acquisition of undeveloped land abutting Taxter Ridge Park in the village of Tarrytown for dedication and use solely as a public park expansion for all town residents with no acquisition, maintenance, liability or other costs to residents of the unincorporated area of town. The New York State Parks department endorsed the acquisition as did the village of Tarrytown.
RESPONDING TO EDGEMONT CONCERNS ABOUT SEELY PLACE SCHOOL CROSSING UPDATE.. Board approves resolution tonight implementing no parking/no standing on Seely Place during designated school morning and afternoon hours.
Over the years many Edgemont residents have expressed concern about children walking to the Seely Place School. Our new police chief, Chris McNerney, Sgt. Nick Reckson and I recently met with some parents, the School Superintendent and a representative of the Greenville Fire department. This is what we have done so far...
Town officials make housecalls to residents and neighborhood associations. We listen to community concerns. The Seely Pl vote is one example. Tonight Town Board members and department heads met with the N Elmsford Civic Association. We will follow up on their concerns. If you or your neighbors want town officials to hold a meeting on your street please advise. We work for you and want you to feel proud that you live in our town.
