On Friday the town inaugurated a new initiative “Greenburgh Success Stories” highlighting former Greenburgh students who make us proud. .
Our first honoree: Professor Andrew Novo. Professor Novo attended the Greenburgh Central school district. He then went on to Princeton. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in History. Then---on to Oxford University in England. Two graduate degrees. He has worked as a writer and research associate at the Harvard Business School. He has lectured at Georgetown University and at West Point. And, is currently Assistant Professor of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington DC. Dr. Novo is author of two books “When Small Countries Crash and Queen of Cities.
WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T GET A GREAT EDUCATION AT THE GREENBURGH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT? Many of the graduates are brilliant and are great successes. There is no need to take your child out of the Greenburgh school district and to send them to private schools.
As a result of the successful event we had – I’d like to expand the Greenburgh Success Stories initiative. In addition to honoring former Greenburgh students who have become success stories – I’d also like to honor teachers who taught in any Greenburgh school who changed a students life for the better.
If you would like to nominate a former student who attended any Greenburgh school for our Greenburgh Success story initiative – please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. Although this program started out focusing on the Greenburgh Central school district—we should celebrate former graduates who attended any of the schools within Greenburgh.
If you would like to recognize a former teacher who taught in a Greenburgh school and who made a world of a difference in your life please e mail me with a short summary of how they impacted your life.
Most people move to Greenburgh for the excellent schools. Let’s highlight the success stories: teachers and students.
