CITIZENS MONITORING GROUP FORMED TO ATTEND FAIRVIEW FIRE COMMISSION MEETINGS
Release Date: March 05, 2014

Michael Cotter, Fairview Fire Commissioner, is leading the effort to fight the funding of an unnecessary AND COSTLY (SIX FIGURES!) administrative position in the Fairview fire department. A citizens watchdog group is being formed to ATTEND Fairview fire Commission meetings. Fairview fire district taxes are almost as high as town taxes. There needs to be more citizens watching to see how your taxes are being spent.

If you would like to be kept informed of meetings and issues that are coming up before the Fairview Fire department please e mail Commissioner Cotter at   mcotter@fairviewfire.org

Dear Paul and Members of the Board:

Feel free to forward my comments to the Fairview Fire Department/Commissioners and to the elist.

I was not able to attend the meeting last night but object to the proposal of the Fire Commissioners.
As President of the Hillside/Wyndover Civic Association and also a member of the unicorporated area of Greenburgh (Fairview Fire District) I agree with Mr. Spinozzi.

I wonder what the Fire Commissioners are thinking to propose such an outrageous position.  I speak as a senior, taxpayer and resident, who can hardly keep up with the taxes we pay now. We can't afford to pay more for a created, unnessary position to bring (4) existing deputy Commissioners up to speed to take over for the present chief.  This is an insult to the entire Fairview Community.

There is plenty of time NOW,to schedule some training sessions for each of the deputies.

This is another crazy idea that someone has thought of that will not benefit the taxpayers.

Cleo Oliver.
