1st Time homebuyer informational meeting tomorrow: Saturday, March 3rd from 10 AM to 12 noon at Greenburgh Town Hall.  Greenburgh resident Viola Taliaferrow is organizing the event. Learn how to buy a home with as little as 5% down. Understand credit scoring and credit repair. Understand how you could qualify for home mortgages and get pre approved. Renters-learn the benefits of home ownership. Veterans: learn about VA home loan benefits.  For info e mail VTaliaferrow@yahoo.com.
 
On Wednesday, March 7 at 4:15 PM the town will inaugurate the 2nd year of our student news network program for students.  The age group of our student participants: middle school and high school.  The location: Greenburgh Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave, White Plains.
 
Graduates will receive certificates of appreciation from the Town Board at a Town Board meeting.  Judith Beville, who is coordinating the program, has been in touch with the Jacobs Burn Film Center. They have offered a visit to their media arts lab and/or theater for students to participate in a workshop called the art of the interview.

Become a Certified Microsoft Office Specialist
At Westchester Community College’s Valhalla Campus
Funded by the New York State Education Department through a Perkins IV (CTEA) Allocation
Must be a Qualified Displaced Homemaker:
› Single Parents* › Separated
› Widowed › Disabled Spouse
› Divorced › Unemployed Spouse
*Must have one or more dependents
Prerequisites: Strong basic operational skills on a windows-based computer, including mouse and keyboarding skills, solid file management skills, and previous experience using MS Word and Excel. Must have a commitment to developing expertise in using Word and Excel. Must type at least 25 wpm. Must be unemployed or underemployed (work no more than 17 hours). Must sit for the Certification Exams.
Microsoft Office Specialist Training and Certification in Word and Excel —will prepare you to become a Microsoft Office Specialist in Word and Excel and enable you to broaden your employment opportunities by demonstrating mastery of computer skills.
WHEN: Training is anticipated to begin in March and end in May
