I hope to see you tomorrow at the race! This race is lots of fun. After the first few minutes (you go uphill to Broadway from Dows Lane School) the race gets easier. Enjoy racing past the beautiful Irvington mansions on Broadway. Conclude the race by running on the Old Croton Aqueduct, one of our regions nicest and most picturesque trails close to the Hudson River. Peter Oley was a legend in Irvington. The race is less than 3 miles. And--hopefully the weather on Sunday will be great. If you are a runner- this race is first class!

CRANE'S POND ELEVATED CROSSWALK A GO!

Had a great meeting this morning with many residents of Edgemont. The consensus: the town should proceed with the elevated crosswalk near Crane's Pond. Will slow down traffic heading towards the Pipeline. And, increase pedestrian safety. The consultant the town retained answered questions before a vote was taken. An overwhelming yes from the majority of people who attended the community outreach meeting. It is expected that the crosswalk will be installed in late spring,2012 or early summer--at the latest. The crosswalk, drainage improvements and ADA initiatives will cost $75,000 --non taxpayer dollars (developer escrow funds).
