Hi Paul,
I was out of work for five months but recently got a consulting job in Newark (you have to go where the work is) and two weeks after I started there, I was offered, and I accepted, a full-time position at a different company in Tarrytown.
It wasn't easy but persistence paid off. Both jobs came through headhunters. There was another opportunity that I became aware of through networking, but I'm happy where I am now.
By the way, phone interviews are more important than you think. You don't get in the door without doing well on them.
Regards,
Nelson
