YOU'RE INVITED TO ATTEND MEETINGS OF THE CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL

 CAC Upcoming Environmental Programs          

The Town's Conservation Advisory Council is established under the Town Code to advise the Town Board on environmental aspects of development and other activities within the Town.   The CAC is presenting a multi-month series of programs to which the public is invited: CAC Environmental Professional Education Series for Greenburgh Residents.         

Dr. Michael Rubbo, Director Environmental Conservation, Teatown Lake Reservation, gave the first presentation at the April 14 CAC meeting on “Community Value of Protecting Wetlands and Buffers".          

On May 12 (Thursday), two representatives of The Care of Trees (an arboricultural firm that specializes in tree solutions on land development sites and sustaining tree care), Chris Cowles (Consulting Urban Forester) and Guy Pardee (Certified Arborist), will give a presentation "Preserving Existing Trees and Forests  During Construction on Developed Land”.                

Future programs will include:               

- Beth Evans, Evans Environmental Consulting, "Science and How It Is Utilized in Mitigation Planning".               

- Courtney White, Executive Director Greenburgh Nature Center, "Challenges of Nature Deficit Disorder: The Importance of Connecting Children with the Natural Environment".         

All of these CAC programs are held at Greenburgh Town Hall, commencing at 7pm, as the first part of that evening's CAC meeting.  More details about future dates after the May 12 presentation will be forthcoming.  THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME.
