A REAL TREAT TONIGHT AT YOSEMITE PARK, THEODORE YOUNG COMMUNITY CENTER
You are invited to attend a world class concert tonight at Yosemite Park (in back of the Theodore Young Community Center) at 7 PM. Bob Baldwin and vocalist Porter Carroll Jr will be peforming at the outdoor pavilion. The concert is free and is a part of the new urban jazz series on Thursday evenings in July.
Bob Baldwin, Westchester County native, has 14 solo discs to his credit. His last 4 CDs reached Billboard top 10 Contemporary Jazz charts. His ‘08 release, "NewUrbanJazz.com" fuses jazz, funk with vocals, and features Jocelyn Brown, Freddie Jackson, Marion Meadows, Najee and others. He has also worked with Grover Washington, Jr., George Benson, Gerald Albright, Will Downing and Chuck Loeb.
He will be joined for the evening by acclaimed singer/songwriter, Porter Carroll Jr. Baldwin and Carroll as a team have written with the aforementioned Washington and Meadows, as well as on Baldwin's own solo releases. The original Greenburgh-based Atlantic Starr member has also penned songs for Taj Mahal, Luther Vandross and the Temptations.
