Supervisor calls for reopening of Pipeline Road
Release Date: October 22, 2003

Residents of Aqueduct Drivein Edgemont are upset that the entrance to the Bronx River Parkwayfrom Pipeline Roadhas been closed. We originally were under the impression that the entrance was only temporarily closed for repairs to the Parkway. However, we are now under the impression that the county may permanently close the road. This decision is creating problems: cars are not observing the detour signs or do not believe them. They come back up through Aqueduct Dr, where houses sit and minor children reside. Others are cutting through either Walbrook or Bretton, narrow streets. A number of people walk from Edgemont down to the RR station. If the road is not plowed in the winter or open many people will be trudging through lots of snow. What about fire trucks and sanitation trucks? There’s good reasons for reopening the road.
