RIDE SHARE - GET A RESERVED PARKING SPOT...DESIGNATED BUILDING DEPT FEE FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION USE
Release Date: April 29, 2008

The town has reserved some parking spots for those who share rides to get to our town hall. The spots are located near the entrance to Town Hall. This initiative, first proposed by former Energy Conservation coordinator Nikki Coddington, is designed to encourage employees and Town Hall visitors to ride share.
The Town Board plans to appoint a replacement to Nikki Coddington at our May 14th Town Board meeting. Funding for the new coordinator will come from grants and from a suggested new building permit application designated fee that can only be used for energy conservation initiatives. Our part time energy conservation coordinator earns about $29,000 a year, with no benefits. Our new energy conservation coordinator will help residents and businesses save money in their homes and commercial buildings by conserving energy. Offset tax hikes, gas increases, inflation by conserving energy!
