WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION SPONSORED BY THE GREENBURGH ARTS COUNCIL THIS SATURDAY FROM 1-3 PM—AN INTERESTING PROGRAM ESPECIALLY FOR SENIORS

A Women's History Month Celebration with Lynne St. Clare Foster will take place Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1 - 3 pm at Greenburgh Town Hall.  “I will be doing a slide show of my work and talk about the spirit behind reinvention . How to stay relevant. Being happy and not sitting waiting to die.  I’m going to also show work from people who at our age are still working in the arts,” says Ms. Foster.

Lynne lives and works as an illustrator in New York City. She received her BFA from Pratt Institute and her MFA from School of Visual Arts in the Illustration as Visual Essay program. The focus of her illustration is on the Conceptual Portrait where idea and form converge. "My goal is to translate raw emotion into a visual image, thus able to enlighten, amuse, or sometimes even disturb," says Ms. Foster. She has just completed mounting a solo show in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and is presently in a group show at the University of Malaysia. Her illustration “IF I WAS MADE OF CAKE I'd eat myself before someone else could” has recently been accepted into the Society of Illustrators’ LA Annual competition. She is a professor at Pratt Institute and City College in NYC. The title of her lecture is “OXYGEN: Creative Expression in the Second Act.” This talk will center around the creativity that women experience as they grow older and less hampered by the constraints of family, work and other obligations and expectations.

There is no fee to view the exhibit or attend the lecture. The event also will feature an exhibit of new work by Elmsford artist Adele Yale (who will soon be 90 years old), live music by Carrie Feiner and refreshments.

Parking is readily available and the building is handicapped accessible. For more information, call 914-682-1574.
