In 2017, the Town Board and Planning Board approved a new restaurant and commercial building at Dalewood II Shopping Center. When constructed, the approval includes a sidewalk that will connect from Central Park Avenue toward the former Best Market and H-Mart buildings and a new entrance/exit to the main driveway of the Dalewood II Shopping Center, to facilitate safer site circulation. The new building, related landscaping and circulation updates to the shopping center should enhance the prospect for a new tenant at the former Best Market location. The restaurant space was recently confirmed as a Shake Shack, which will add to the excellent restaurants (and particularly burger restaurants) that exist on Central Park Avenue in the Town. A more formal announcement will precede completion of the space, which is targeted for the end of 2018.
