2018 is the beginning of my 27th year as Greenburgh Town Supervisor. Prior to winning election as Town Supervisor I was a member of the Board of Legislators for eight years.
Every two years -since I was elected to the Legislature - I have been sworn into office before a group of students at the New York School for the Deaf. The goal: to encourage students who are hard of hearing or who are deaf to consider careers in public service --and to one day run for public office. Another benefit of this ceremony: observing first hand the progress being made to enhance the quality of life of those who are hearing impaired.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, January 9th) Town Councilman Francis Sheehan, Councilwoman Diana Juettner and Town Clerk Judith Beville will join me --at a swearing in ceremony before students at the NY School for the Deaf. The swearing in ceremony begins at 9:30 AM.
On Wednesday we will be sworn into office at the Bailey School in Greenburgh-at 10 AM. Greenburgh Town Justice Delores Braithwaite will officiate.
We will hold a 3rd swearing in ceremony at the beginning of the Town Board meeting on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM. Judge Les Adler, a former Greenburgh Town Councilman will swear us in at that time.

THE NY School for the Deaf is located on Knollwood Road in Greenburgh. Take a look at their website. They do an incredible job. And- so much progress has been made - helping those with hearing losses since I first assumed public office. Visiting with the students is so inspiring.
