JACKSON AVE ROAD WORK--NYS AND THE TOWN ARE PLANNING TWO DIFFERENT ROAD PROJECTS
Release Date: November 04, 2016

Some of our town management really work 24/7!  Received this e mail from Rich Fon, Deputy Commissioner of Public Works at 4:46 AM in response to a constituent who lives off of Jackson Ave who wondered why there are digital signs on Jackson indicating that road work will be done in the day time. I had indicated to residents that we're going to repave part of Jackson near Hastings (road is very bumpy and in bad shape) in the evening.  NYS is doing their work during the daytime and is a more extensive project.

I'm proud that we live in a town that is served by many dedicated town employees. Our town staff really tries going the extra mile to be responsive to your concerns. Other Commissioners, deputies and Town Board members work long hours - frequently responding to concerns during the evening hours, weekends -and even when they are on vacation.

THIS IS THE NYS PROJECT
Effective November 4, 2016 until approximately December 5, 2016  Jackson Avenue east bound lanes will be closed between Route 9A and South Sprain Road.

Travel will be allowed in both directions by traffic flaggers alternating traffic flow from 7:00 am and 3:30 pm. It is expected that the flow of traffic will only be effected during the listed hours.
During the evening hours the excavation will be covered by steel plates.

This is due to Water Main construction/excavation in the area. New York State Transportation Authority is the governing agency for this project.
