WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S TOWN BOARD MEETING
Release Date: February 06, 2016

14 YEAR OLD GIRL WHO WAS BORN WITH A CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT TO RECEIVE PROCLAMATION AT TOWN BOARD MEETING ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT…THIS IS HER STORY
TOWN BOARD MEETING 7:30 PM  GREENBURGH TOWN HALL

Jennifer A. Reilly is no stranger to the Greenburgh Town Board. During the past few years the Town Board has invited her to make a presentation at our first meeting in February. She will receive a proclamation declaring the week of February 7th to 14th as Congenital Heart Disease Awareness week.

Jennifer is  a fourteen-year-old girl who was born with Tricuspid Atresia and a Ventricular Septal Defect.  Her  parents were unaware that the number one birth defect is a congenital heart defect.  One in every hundred newborns has a congenital heart defect.  She has  successfully under gone five heart surgeries, two open heart, one closed heart and two catherizations.  She has survived all of these surgeries before the age of four, and today is a bright and active 14 year old girl.  In 2014 WCBS Radio was so impressed with Jennifer (she’s an honor student, figure skater, pianist, role model) that they profiled her on WCBS radio. Listen to the story about her!

Jennifer will highlight the need  to recognize people born with heart defects, to remember
loved ones who lost their battle to CHD, and to honor the dedicated health
professionals who work with those who are trying to overcome this illness.

the Town Board will also hold our 2nd scoping hearing on the Jefferson application to build 272 apartments across from Rivertowns Square in Dobbs Ferry (unincorporated section of town and near downtown Ardsley after some presentations. Because we expect a very large turnout at the meeting those who wish to speak for one minute or less will be called first and members of the community who wish to speak for 5 minutes will be called after those who make brief commentaries.
