NEW SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTED @HEALTH CENTER....MINI BOOK SALE...CONGRAT'S DANNY BERNSTEIN
Release Date: December 03, 2015

During  the next 2+ weeks, a contractor will be installing  NEW sidewalks along Knollwood Road in front of the Health Center and Preserve at Greenburgh. There will be temporary lane closures (approx. 1-2 minutes) when fill is dumped. When the actual concrete is poured, closures will be longer, but maintained by the contractors flagmen.  I'm very excited about this new sidewalk --which the Broadview Civic Association has been pushing for in recent years.  A much needed pedestrian safety improvement.  Thank you, Bob Reninger for your advocacy!

Congratulations to Danny Bernstein, son of  Bob Bernstein, President of the Edgemont Community Council.. Danny is a 23 year old musical theater composer  lyricist and award-winning playwright whose original hit musical “Far from Canterbury,” won the NYC Fringe Festival this summer and later played to sold out audiences Off Broadway.  Danny performed at the White House two weeks ago, on November 16, as part of an all day White House salute to Broadway that was hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama.  The live performance in the East Room was taped for broadcast on the Learning Channel.
Danny was seen on the television show in two workshops for a select group of 40 talented high school students from across the country, the first in which he played piano for famed Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin), while Schwartz gave a lecture to the kids in the White House Family Theater on musical composition, and the second in which he played piano in the Diplomat Room for Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s hit song, “Conga,” while Mrs. Obama and the kids were taught the dance by the current stars of Broadway’s “On Your Feet.”  Both workshop performances were included in the TV broadcast.  Danny is a 2010 graduate of Edgemont High School and a 2014 summa cum laude graduate of Cornell, where he majored in music and received a number of awards.

Danny will be producing Edgemont’s next spring musical, “Into the Woods,” which will be performed this March.  If you would like to know more about Danny, just check out his website,dannykbernstein.com<http://dannykbernstein.com>. Or you may be able to catch him playing piano for NYC’s famed comedy improv group Chicago City Limits.
