TENNIS COURTS BEING UPGRADED... Stormwater Management Education & Outreach
Release Date: June 02, 2015

On Saturday, May 23 a resident of Greenburgh  lost a platinum necklace with a solitaire diamond in the middle.  The diamond was given to her by her deceased husband and has been in their family for over 100 years.  She lost it last week either in Greenburgh or White Plains and is devastated.  Its not an expensive diamond so it may look more than its worth but she is  offering a $2,000 reward.  ANY help she  can get  would be so appreciated.  Thank you so much.  Andrea Madori

The Greenburgh Town Board authorized the use of $90,000 from non taxpayer dollars (developer escrow funds) to be used to enhance two tennis courts at E Rumbrook Park. We will be developing two new tennis court surfaces on existing tennis courts at E Rumbrook Park and have authorized the Parks Department to go out to bid.
The proposed project is to remove the existing two artificial grass with sand tennis court surfaces at East Rumbrook and apply a Premier Tennis Court System to them. This system applies a cushioned surface over the existing courts and applies an acrylic resurfacer, acrylic filler and acrylic finish.  The cushioned surface minus repainting the surface has a 25 year warranty.  The cost of the project will be under $90,000.00.

In addition, the capital budget (which should be voted on next week, will appropriate   $13,500 to repaint the tennis courts and $36,000 for tennis court lights.
AFV Tennis Courts Light Replacements- $36,000– In the fall of 2002 five of the courts were shut down due to damage to the light system due to age and corrosion.  An electrician inspected the system and recommended that the courts not be used until fixed.  Repairing the existing system was not cost efficient or safe.  A Sports Lighting Sales Representative was contacted which recommended that a four-phase light replacement program be implemented. Phase I was implemented in 2003 and Phase II in 2004. Since then the light replacement program keeps getting deferred. Some additional courts were
repaired on an emergency basis The remaining courts that need light replacements  are
courts 1 & 2 (4 poles), 14 (3 poles) and 15 & 16 (4 poles). Courts 1 and 2 presently are not working,
