WHAT IS HAPPENING ON SAW MILL RIVER ROAD, NEAR JACKSON AVE...
Release Date: April 30, 2015

NEW 66 UNIT RENTAL COMPLEX BEING BUILT ON SAW MILL RIVER ROAD- NEAR JACKSON AVE AND CLOSE TO PROPOSED ALMOST 300 UNIT APARTMENT COMPLEX NEAR DOWNTOWN ARDSLEY.

TOWN SHOULD HOLD REVIEW OF ANY MAJOR PROPOSED COMPLEX UNTIL WE CAN ASSESS TRAFFIC IMPACTS FROM RIVERTOWN SQUARE AND THE NEW LOFTS-----

Officials with Ginsburg Development Companies have scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony May 7 for luxury rental complex in  the village of Hastings.  The Lofts is located on the border of unincorporated Greenburgh. The town had no approval authority over this new construction project.

The Lofts at Saw Mill River will be a 66-Unit rental complex on Saw Mill River Road, across from Acorda headquarters.

Costing about $35 million to build, the complex will feature loft-style rental apartments in 3 buildings including 12 affordable workforce housing units.

Ginsburg has dedicated 1.8 acres of open space to the Village and will create a 10-space parking lot and pedestrian bridge for the public to the South County Trailway, which runs by the property. The project, which received financial incentives from the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency, is expected to create 100 construction jobs over an 18-month period.

Another developer is proposing that almost 300 apartments be built a few minutes away -off Lawrence Street (across from LIFE and across from the soon to be built Rivertowns Square development in Dobbs Ferry. I continue to believe that the proposed 300 apartments is much to much for the area and also suggest that we hold off on any reviews until after we assess the traffic impacts of both Rivertowns Square and the new Lofts in Hastings. How can we conduct a traffic study before construction of both projects is completed? I spent over an hour bicycling up and down streets leading to downtown Ardsley. Even during off peak hours there are significant traffic jams in Ardsley.
