The arts & culture committee of Greenburgh is holding a fundraising event to save a program that has been enjoyed by Greenburgh residents for many years. This fundraiser is to save the annual "Matters of the HeART" exhibit by seniors at Greenburgh Town Hall, the Andrus Home, and Fordham University. Our funder, the Helen Andrus Benedict Foundation, suspended all Westchester grants.
The Greenburgh Arts and Culture Committee will sponsor a one-day, one-price ($65) sale of original art at Greenburgh Town Hall this coming Saturday, November 1st from 2-4 pm. These 100 paintings, each 9" x 12" or smaller, were created by the talented artists whose works you've enjoyed over the years in the "Matters of the HeART" exhibits at Town Hall. They'll make great gifts for the coming holidays! Please support this fundraiser for Westchester's seniors.
The Greenburgh Town Board discussed a letter that I received from Bill Darger President of the Edgemont Association to construct sidewalks on Seely Place at our Town Board work session meeting on October 28th. Our Tuesday morning work sessions are archived on the town website: www.greenburghny.com.
We decided to hold a work session discussion on Tuesday December 2nd at 9:30 AM. The next possible steps: retaining the services of a firm to review options and to design a sidewalk that complies with ADA standards and has the least negative impact for residents of Seely Place.
The Police Chief has expressed his support for sidewalks at Seely and at other locations in Edgemont (Fort Hill Road and Ardsley Road).
