MEETING ON CONCUSSIONS FOR ATHLETES AND PARENTS OF ATHLETES...ANNE FRANK'S STEPSISTER IN TARRYTOWN

An important meeting on concussions for athletes and parents of athletes  October 30th at 7 PM…
The Irvington Athletic department is presenting an important forum on concussions at a community meeting on Thursday, October 30,2014 at 7 PM at the Irvington School district campus theater. It’s a free event. Irvington is using a   baseline and  sideline assessment and a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals.   Irvington is at the forefront of concussion management and the school district is  hosting a presentation and discussion night on October 30th. The meeting is open to the public. 
 
Speakers include Dr. Katherine Hough, Irvington School Physician, Pediatrics on Hudson….Dr. Mark Herceg, Director of Neuropsychology Brain Injury Unit Burke Rehabilitation Hospital   Weill-Cornell Concussion Clinic.   Amanda Bachmann, Heath Athletic Trainer College of New Rochelle.  Also in attendance, Chris Laurentani, President- Symmetry Physical Therapy, Yoko Koike and Lexi Perry, Athletic Trainers, Dobbs Ferry  High.

Eva Schloss, stepsister of Anne Frank (Anne Frank’s diary will discuss her experiences as a survivor of the Holocaust at the Doubletree in Tarrytown at 7:30 PM (details: see article below)

LAST NIGHTS TOWN BOARD MEETING…MORE COMPETITION FOR CAR DEALERSHIPS MOVES FORWARD…NEW RESTAURANT ON E HARTSDALE AVE…BETTER TENNIS COURTS…HUMAN RIGHTS LIAISON COMMITTEE…SPECIAL PERMITS FOR CAR DEALERS
The Greenburgh Town Board referred a proposed local law that will allow more competition among car dealers on Central Ave to the Planning Board and Comprehensive Plan Committee for review at last nights Town Board meeting.  The Board also referred to the planning board and Hartsdale Contextual Committee a special permit and façade alteration for a new restaurant at 201 E Hartsdale Ave, Hartsdale. And, we amended the Zoning Ordinance to allow pre existing motor vehicle sales uses and motor vehicle sales lots as a special permit use.  We authorized the award of an amount not to exceed $148,500 for the purchase and installation of four premier tennis courts in AF Veteran and Massaro Parks. The Board also approved the creation of a a local Human Rights Liaison Committee to work on informative public events addressing ethnic relations and discrimination issues with the Westchester County Human Rights Commission.
