SAVE THE VIEWS GREENBURGH RESIDENTS ENJOY OF THE SPECTACULAR PALISADES
Release Date: July 26, 2014

Earlier today I was bicycling around Hastings and Dobbs Ferry - enjoying the views of the spectacular Palisades.  Sometimes we take for granted this ageless natural wonder.

Sadly, the views of the Palisades from our side of the river may be destroyed. LG USA plans to build a 143 foot high LG office tower in Engelwood Cliffs, just 50 yards from the Palisades Interstate Park. If this happens an American natural and historic landmark that is enjoyed by millions will be destroyed.

An online petition sponsored by Protect the Palisades needs your signature. We urge LG to alter their plan and to use a low rise building design that would preserve, not destroy the Palisades while still meeting LGs need. The new design would also provide as many jobs for Englewood Cliffs and the same taxes.  Environmentalists, lawmakers, the Board of Legislators and many others from both sides of the river are working hard to protect this treasure.

Once the natural beauty of the Palisades is destroyed it cannot be reclaimed.

Tell LG and Englewood Cliffs: Protect the Palisades!

To: Mayor Joseph Parisi and LG USA President William Cho ?
From: [Your Name]

I am deeply disturbed by the plan to build the 143-foot high LG office tower in Englewood Cliffs just 50 yards from the Palisades Interstate Park. This tower would do irreparable harm to the character of the ageless Hudson River Palisades.

Such an act would undo a century of conservation efforts and violate the longtime trust respected by others for generations. It would spoil an American Natural and Historic Landmark and a park enjoyed by millions.

I urge you to alter LG’s plan and use a low-rise building design that would preserve the Palisades while still meeting LG’s needs. A new design also would provide just as many jobs and bring Englewood Cliffs the same tax revenue.

The legacy of this beloved Natural and Historic Landmark is a responsibility you must not take lightly. Once gone, the natural beauty of the Palisades cannot be reclaimed.

Let's get to work on a low-rise building that will be beneficial to all.
