UPDATE: applications for WESTHAB workforce housing will be sent out on March 1st
Release Date: February 26, 2013

Bob Miller, President of WETHAB, advised me that WESTHAB will be sending out applications to people who are interested in moving to the soon to be built  28 unit, 3 story building apartments on March 1st. Applications must be received by WESTHAB by March 31st. They will conduct a lottery to establish the order of tenant selection by April 2nd. They are shooting for occupancy in June.  Income range (depending on family size):  $22,000 - $69,000
Rent range (depending on income range and unit size): $467-$1405
The apartments are located at 22 Tarrytown Road. The apartments will replace the WESTHAB homeless shelter and the former King’s Inn Motel.  Prior to WESTHAB purchasing the property, the King’s Inn Motel had a reputation for being a sleazy and run down motel, rampant with drug and prostitution problems.
If you want an application sent to you-  feel free to e mail me and I will contact WESTHAB.  Or… you can contact Dawn Cousins directly at WESTHAB..  Call Dawn Cousin at 914-345-2800, ext 0 or e-mail dawn.cousin@westhab.org to place their info on a Contact List.  As you know, because this is workforce housing.

In recent months  many people have stopped by at my office – very excited about the new apartment complex, hoping that they will be lucky and able to move into the attractive new building within walking distance of the city of White Plains, White Plains train station, Central Ave and 119..  The apartment complex was approved by the Greenburgh Town Board members.  Because Greenburgh has a good record when it comes to affordable housing, our town is one of the few communities in Westchester exempt from the federal lawsuit –requiring communities in Westchester to build affordable housing.
