GREENBURGH 5 K MEMORIAL RUN TOMORROW-- 9/11 at 9 AM
Please join me at the memorial 5K run tomorrow. We will start at VE Macy Park at 9 AM. The entire run will start and finish at VE Macy Park in Ardsley on the S County trail.
The start and finish will occur at the V.E. Macy Park near the Great Hunger Memorial. There is plenty of parking and a portable toilet available. The reason why this course is ideal is because it is completely self contained so runners will not need to be concerned about motor vehicles. We will be closing the trail for a limited time to foot and bicycle traffic so it will be essential that we begin on time. The park and trail are located on the grounds where The Cantina restaurant once was.
Park Access: you can only gain access to the park by using the Saw Mill River Parkway going NORTH past Exit #17 (Dobbs Ferry/ Ardsley Exit). The entrance to the park is approximately a half mile further on your right. Those runners traveling south on the Saw Mill River Parkway must get off on Dobbs Ferry/ Ardsley Exit #17 and follow the signs to get back on the Saw Mill River Parkway traveling NORTH.
Race start time is 9:00 am SHARP.

HARTSDALE FIRE DISTRICT CONDUCTS FIRE HYDRANT TESTING STARTING MONDAY...
The Hartsdale Fire District will be conducting fire hydrant testing starting Monday, September 13 and will continue for approximately two weeks.  As you requested, could you please forward the following information to Hartsdale residents via your e-mail list and post on the town’s webpage.  Residents have already been notified by hand-delivered newsletter  and the testing schedule will be forwarded to WFAS radio each morning with that day’s schedule.

Regards,
Raymond Maseda
Fire Captain

During the test, sediment may be stirred up in the water system causing browning of the water in the test area. The water will clear after a short time and is safe for drinking and cooking.  Each morning WFAS radio will broadcast the streets and area that will be affected by the testing.  If you notice water discoloration, we recommend that residents run a faucet until the water color clears.

The Really Terrible Orchestra of Westchester was formed in 2009 to bring very amateur musicians together for a unique opportunity to play with other like minded and similarly talented people.  Their mission is to provide a place for people who are not up to professional or even amateur level status to join together as beginners, adults who haven’t touched their instrument in years but yearn to have a place to play in a group, and professionals who want a place to play a new instrument.  The orchestra currently consists, of violins, cellos, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, an accordion, and a banjo.  We urge you to check us out, as we are a welcoming group with a need to fill all our sections and incorporate new people into our community. For more information, check them out on their website www.thereallyterribleorchestra.com or contact Barbara Rosenthal at rtowest@gmail.com, or 914-582-9096.

WANT TO SAVE MONEY? WWW.KnowtoriousPIG.com posts  substantial discounts on their website every day. Most of the discounts are 50%+ off the typical costs.  Example; $1- for an entree at a restaurant.
Want a free prescription drug card? Some residents have advised me that they have saved 40% or more off their prescriptions from this card. Also have cards for pets.
The cards are available at my office. No gimmicks, no registration. Just take a card. Cards are effective if you do not have insurance or if you are underinsured.

Hope you had a great summer. Enjoy our exciting fall programs.
