Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner has named Sarah Bracey White, who
heads the Greenburgh arts & culture program, as Greenburgh's "Employee of the
Year." This is the 2nd time that Feiner has named an employee of the year. Last
year Feiner honored Gerry Iagallo, Assessor, for his role in locating and
overseeing the move to the new Greenburgh Town Hall.
White is receiving this years honor because of her efforts to bring art work
to the new Town Hall. In recent weeks Sarah has worked extremely hard to
decorate our new Town Hall with spectacular art work. Although she is only a part
time employee , Sarah has worked long hours --has been at Town Hall during
weekends, evenings. She has purchased art (her own expense), exhibiting the work
at Town Hall.
Our Town Hall is beginning to look like a beautiful museum, said Feiner, who
pointed out that no one asked Sarah to oversee this project.
Sarah is a model public servant -- who doesn't wait to be asked to take on a
responsibility. She is a take charge person. Her work is extraordinary,
whether its providiing the homeless with access to the arts, organizing poetry
contests, revitalizing downtowns with arts in windows, etc... The Westchester Arts
Council even called her a superwoman!
