The Administrative Judge for the 9th Judicial District, Francis Nicolai and Thomas Dickerson, Administrator of the Greenburgh Town Court, have both recommended the creation of a position for a third part time Judge in Greenburgh. This is in response to a letter I sent to Judge Nicolai on August 26th requesting their input. The assessment is based upon an increasing volume of cases, the backlog of V & T trials, the average disposition time for criminal cases, the substantial revenues generated each year by the court and their observations of the court operations and discussion with court personnel.
I have advised the Town Comptroller of my intention to fund such a position in my 2004 town budget.
