FOLLOW UP ACTIONS AS A RESULT OF LAST NIGHTS TOWN BOARD MEETING
Residents of Babbitt Court, were notified by the State Emergency Management Office that approval had been granted for funding ot elebate up to l6 homes in their flood prone neighborhood of Babbitt Court. Up to $859,000 is available which will be supplemented by a 25% local share. Reimbursement for some of the costs still has not been received by neighbors. I've schedule a follow up Town Board meeting for August l9th at 3:30 PM at Town Hall and will invite State Senator Spano, Assemblyman Brodsky, Congresswoman Lowey, the State Comptroller and Attorney General to attend or to send rep's. In addition, because of the delay in processing claims we're asking Congresswoman Lowey to help us secure an extension for the implementation of the grant. Am also contacting the county--will ask them to clear the Saw Mill Parkway in northern westchester. Debri from the north impacts Babbitt Court.
ON ANOTHER MATTER (CABLE TV)...am writing to school superintendents (Edgemont/Woodlands) advising them that the town will soon begin franchize negotiations with cablevision. I'm asking for a wish list. I'd like to see the two school districts which are entirely in unincorporated Greenburgh be able to provide their students with cable tv equipment, training, studio time, shows, etc..
