MONDAY, MAY 12TH
SPEAK OUT AND VOTE ON AN IMPORTANT OPEN SPACE PARK ACQUISTION PROPOSAL
Greenburgh has a unique opportunity to acquire 200 acres of Taxter Ridge in the E Irvington area. This is the largest undeveloped tract in southern Westchester. The county and state have pledged to fund two thirds of the cost to acquire this important open space parcel. The cost to the average household will be about $15 a year. I think it's well worth it, considering what a development would cost us in traffic, school impacts and other demands on services.
There will be a community meeting on Monday, May 12 at 8 PM at Greenburgh Town Hall. The Town Comptroller will provide residents with a briefing on the status of the budget and tax impacts at that time. Please attend this meeting. After you hear the presentation you will be provided with the opportunity to comment and to express your views in an advisory vote.
On Sunday, May 4th at 1 PM you are invited to take a walking tour of the proposed parcel of land. Meet at the top of Roundabend in Tarryhill off Route 9 (near TZ Bridge). Please contact Danny Gold at 59l-8634.before atending because we're still finalizing details of the walk.
Thanks for your participation. Hope to see you on May 4th and May l2th.
