United States Congresswoman Nita Lowey is expected to attend the dedication of our Veterans Memorial park at DeSanti Plaza (across from the Hartsdale Train Station this afternoon at 2 PM. The Town Board holds our annual Veterans day ceremony at the park. Last year the Congresswoman joined United States Senator Gillibrand at the groundbreaking ceremony of our new park.
The park looks beautiful and gives visitors who get off the Hartsdale train station a great first impression of our town. Very excited about this new addition to East Hartsdale Ave.
But...more could be done. We want to continue to make East Hartsdale Ave attractive. Some residents have suggested the formation of an E Hartsdale Ave Beautification Committee. The committee will meet with representatives of the parks, public works, planning departments monthly and discuss action steps we could all take so the avenue is clean, and very attractive. Volunteers could assist.
The Town Board will discuss the creation of an E Hartsdale Ave Beautification Committee at our upcoming work session. If you like the idea and are interested in being considered for appointment to a committee once it is formed - please advise. Our e mail is townboard@greenburghny.com.
