GREENBURGH HAS POTENTIAL TO BE CENTER OF BIOTECHNOLOGY ACTIVITY IN NY STATE
Greenburgh has the potential to be the center of biotechnology activity in New York State. The Landmark at Eastview campus is the headquarters of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. , Regeneron, voted the world's number one Biopharmaceutical Employer in Science Magazine survey and Biotech company of the year by Scrip Intelligence many times has shown that science can change lives for the better. The proposed expansion will generate jobs for our community. The town will generate significant revenue from the development (which will help us in our efforts to continue to comply with the tax cap) and many of the new employees will want to move to the town and shop at local stores which will be great for our commercial areas.
On Tuesday, September 6th at 9:45am the Town Board will hear a presentation during its work session, associated with a site plan application by Loop Road Holdings. The plan includes phased construction of potentially over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of Research and Development (R&D) and related space, which would more than double the square footage of R&D space in this portion of the Town of Greenburgh (Landmark at Eastview Campus) and add to the existing research and development presence in the Town and in neighboring Mount Pleasant. The proposal includes the preservation of over 40 acres of open space, structured underground parking and improvements to local infrastructure. This significant and exciting proposal will provide excellent employment opportunities and is consistent with the Town’s draft Comprehensive Plan.
