Jefferson/JPI Scoping Document Update..ALEXANDER HAMILTON (NOT THE BROADWAY SHOW BUT THE SCHOOL!)
Release Date: March 11, 2016
The Town Board is in the process of reviewing the Scoping Document related to “The Jefferson” 272-unit multi-family residential proposal on Lawrence St. (P.O. Ardsley). The Scoping Document was circulated as a draft by the Town Board on November 30, 2015. Since that time the Town Board has held two public scoping sessions (January 13, 2016 and February 10, 2016). At those meetings, numerous comments to the draft scope were received from residents, neighboring municipalities, the Ardsley School District and others. Up until the close of the written record for the scoping session (February 24, 2016), many additional written comments were received. Each comment received, whether at the scoping session or in writing, has been received and reviewed by the Town Board and referred to the Town Board’s consultant (Ferrandino & Associates, Inc.) for consideration. The Scoping Document remains a draft and is scheduled to be accepted by the Town Board on March 23, 2016. The current draft scoping document has been significantly updated to incorporate many of comments received. Prior to the March 23rd Town Board meeting, I intend to meet with Village Officials and the school district to answer questions they may have on the updated draft Scoping Document. If you have any questions, concerns please advise.
We are required to comply with New York State laws concerning land use applications. The scoping document determines what issues will be studied and will form the basis for the subsequent Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) related to the project. Once deemed acceptable for public comment, the DEIS (which will be prepared by the Applicant at a later date) will be released and will be the subject of future meetings to receive public input.
The updated scoping document will be available for download as a PDF on the Town of Greenburgh homepage at the following link: http://www.greenburghny.com/ this weekend. In the meantime I am attaching the document.
Transcripts to the scoping sessions can be found at this link: http://www.greenburghny.com/Cit-e-Access/webpage.cfm?TID=10&TPID=13179
