Release Date: November 13, 2018

The Greenburgh Town Board met with an Assisted Living Facility operator that would like to build an assisted living facility on West Hartsdale Ave-the site of the current Maplewood Swim and Tennis Club. This was a very preliminary meeting--a pre application meeting. We notified residents who live near the proposed facility to attend the meeting and also heard from Fire Chief Ed Rush. If you want to watch the meeting click on the link immediately below.  Please watch the presentation in it's entirety. If you would like me to share your thoughts with the attorney for the possible applicant I would be happy to let them know what you think. My e mail is pfeiner@greenburghny.com.  If the applicant decides to proceed the town will conduct environmental and traffic studies, sponsor community meetings and hearings.  If your neighborhood would like a special presentation before an application is submitted please let us know.

As the holiday season approaches the Greenburgh Police Department is

currently investigating four different incidents of thefts of packages from

doorsteps. Brief descriptions of the incidents and suspects are provided in the

information that follows.

The Greenburgh Police Department would like to remind and encourage its

residents to consider taking steps to safeguard their delivered packages. Some

suggested measures being, when possible, to schedule deliveries for when

someone will be home to receive them, require a signature upon delivery, ask

a neighbor to watch for and secure packages, have packages delivered to your

workplace (if permitted), and to utilize tracking options or a pick up location.

There are also an assortment of home security/ video surveillance options that

may help to deter thieves.

Residents may have seen the newly installed lights at entrance ramps along 287, and they are being activated asap. Information from the NYSDOT can be found via the following link.
