WHAT TO DO IF LOW FLYING PLANES OR HELICOPTERS MAKE LOTS OF NOISE OVER YOUR HOME
Release Date: October 21, 2016

Received a letter from Peter Scherrer, Westchester County Airport manager. If you have experienced low flying planes or helicopters the airport has a noise abatement office at 995 4861. There is also a noise complaint hotline at 939 8484 for the reporting of aircraft noise or any unusual aviation activities.

I forwarded a complaint from a resident about noise from a low flying helicopter. The airport noise department asked the constituent to obtain further information and to call in a few more complaints. The airport was able to identify the helicopter operation and was advised that the helicopter noise was impacting the local community.  They were provided the location of the constituents address to assist in mitigating the noise impacts from their flights.  The helicopter operator promised to make every effort to reduce their noise impacts.    Routes are designed to utilize local highways, water boides, golf courses, cemetaries in an attempt to minimize noise impacts on residents.

Thought this would be of interest.
