WIFI ENTIRE EAST HARTSDALE AVE
Release Date: June 28, 2007

A great suggestion from a citizen that could go a long way making E Hartsdale Ave a more attractive place to live, work, relax. The town should pursue a proposal to WIFI the entire East Hartsdale Ave.If we would WIFI E Hartsdale Avecommuters would be able to bring their computers to the train station. Others could bring their computer with them to restaurants or the parking areas—while they are waiting for friends/family members. The proposal will be discussed by the town’s MIS committee. Communities around the nation are offering free WIFI to residents.

The Board will hold a special meeting next Tuesday to authorize a Request for Proposals for guard rails to be placed on Sprain/Ridge in Hartsdale (off of Heatherdell). A few months ago Con Ed cut down many trees from that location.  The Guard Rails have been recommended by the police chief.

The Town Boardwill hold a public hearing on a stronger ethics law on July 18th. The final version of the proposed ethics law should be finalized next Tuesday. The Board of Ethics consists of 5 members. Currently, there are only 3 appointees on the Board.  The 3 members are working very hard. I am requesting that we have a full Board. A few months ago the Board interviewed some very qualified candidates for the vacant positions so there is no reason not to have a full Board.

The Board heard a presentation on the library renovation/construction. It is estimated that the library will be complete in June, 2008, Demolition of the old Town Hall will take place in mid July, 2007.
