MORE UPDATES...MORE EVACUATIONS...MULTIPURPOSE CENTER OPEN FOR FLOODING VICTIMS
Release Date: April 16, 2007

I have  been advised that the town is in the proess of evacuating 170 E Hartdale Ave. We have been informed by Con Ed that we may need to evacuate as far down as 100 E Hartsdale Ave if the water continues to rise. The police chief contacted the chair of the parking authority. Residents of E Hartsdale Ave can park on the street for free tomorrow.  Joe Lucasey, deputy commissioner of parks, has opened up the multipurpose center at AF Veteran park. The police will have an officer stationed at the temporary evacuation center the entire evening.
During the week we will review the procedures we used today regarding shelter/emergencies -- hopefully, we will learn from our experiences and do an even better job the next time there is a major storm or emergency.
Your feedback is welcome and appreciated.
