ENERGY STAR® qualified bulbs and fixtures use one-third the energy of traditional models, last up to 10 times longer, and reduce utility costs. In fact, consumers can save up to $30 in utility costs over the lifetime of one bulb. Replacing the most frequently used lights at home will yield the most savings. Our goal is to get at least 420 people to pledge to change at least one light at home. By reaching this goal we will be making a significant impact on our environment, reducing approximately 186,900 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions and a significant amount of energy. Since 420 pledges would represent just 2 ½ percent of the households in unincorporated Greenburgh, think what an impact we would have if everybody took the pledge! We are encouraging both residents and Town employees to take the ENERGY STAR Change a Light Pledge today and help us reach our goal! It’s a small step that’s already making a big difference.
